Welcome to Shirley's Bed & Breakfast

5870 Norwaldo Avenue, Indianapolis, IN

I will not be accepting any reservations after April 20, 2017.
I am making some new and exciting changes.
Please check back often for further developments.

I thank all of my guests who have been so loyal, faithful and friendly.
I have been blessed in getting to know each of you --
thank you for enriching my life!!

I am located on the north side of Indianapolis in the Broad Ripple district.  As you near my neighborhood, you will notice many tall older trees that line the streets.  Within 10 minutes is an outdoor shopping center with many diverse eating establishments  Several churches of various dominations are also close by.

Downtown Indianapolis is a destination with museums, parks, Circle Center Shopping mall, sports events and nightlife -- something for everyone.  The many sporting events, museums, and festivals warrant a perfect weekend get-away in Indianapolis.  Shirley's Bed and Breakfast is only 20 minutes from downtown.  Check out some of our favorite Indianapolis and Indiana links.

You will notice on approaching my home that it is in a newer home surrounded by big trees in a beautiful well established neighborhood.  Broad Ripple Village, within walking distance has many boutique shops, locally owned businesses and art galleries offering a wonderful way to spend a leisurely afternoon.

Although my home is newer, vintage hospitality awaits any traveler who arrives here.  Vintage Hospitality on the House in the House describes the warm, homey, pleasant atmosphere you will experience at Shirley's Bed and Breakfast.

All guests have use of the living room/dining room where you can watch TV, pick up a magazine or the daily newspaper, and maybe enjoy a cup of tea.  You can wonder the beautiful backyard with its many flowers, sit on the deck or sun porch and listen to the water falling in the pond, gaze at the flowering water lilies or watch the birds and squirrels at play.  Relaxing on the full-size swing in the garden or even taking a nap under the shade of the tree can be most enjoyable.  My goal is to provide a place of serenity and make you feel as relaxed and comfortable as if you were home.

The large, bright "Heritage Room" on the second floor contains my parents' antique furniture with touches of memories from my South Dakota farm home mingled in with a few modern accents.  When you enter the room, you sense the warmth and coziness awaiting you.  For a restful, night of sleep, a large queen-size bed welcomes you as well as a comfortable chair with ottoman for reading and relaxing.  The bathroom, very near for easy access, offers tub/shower and plenty of fresh linens.

I always ask what your breakfast preferences are and will satisfy your tastes with a variety of scratch-cooked dishes.  Fresh Indiana eggs and locally raised meats are featured on the breakfast menu.  You can expect a scrumptious standard fare breakfast or I can whip up the ultimate "healthy breakfast."  Weather permitting; breakfast is served on the sun porch or deck.  Coffee and a variety of teas are available any time.

Free wireless Internet access is available.

Reasonable daily and weekly rates are available.  Contact me about weekend specials.

Business travelers inquire about special rates. Longer stays may be available at discounted rates.

To reserve the "Heritage Room" click on the Rates & Reservations link above or call me at 317.590.0252.  If you have a special need or request, please let me know.

I look forward to sharing my home with you.
